50th Jubilee

Please join us on 1st November 2025 for a day of festivities as we celebrate our  50th anniversary.

Kōwhai Specialist School celebrates 50 years with two exciting events on Saturday, 1st November, 2025.

At these events, you will have a chance to reconnect with old classmates and staff, and relive memories of your time at Kōwhai.  We look forward to welcoming you!

Kōwhai Specialist School Picnic

Saturday 1st November

When : 1130am – 130pm

Where: Kōwhai Base School, 407 Hastings Street South, Akina, Hastings

We will begin our weekend of 50th Jubilee celebrations with the unveiling of a locally crafted taonga recognising the past, present and future students of Kōwhai Specialist School.

There will be entertainment, food and fun for all.

Cost: This is a free event, however you must register your attendance for catering purposes.

Golden Jubilee Starry Night Spectacular  

Saturday 1st November

When: 630 – 900pm

Where: The Atrium, 203 Queen Street East, Hastings 4122. 

Cost: $45 per person (plus Eventfinda processing fee of $4.42)

R18……….open only to age 18 and over only

Dress: Semi-formal

Reconnect with past friends, pupils and colleagues in this beautiful venue in Central Hastings. Wear your dancing shoes for the dance floor (as we know how much Kōwhai students love music!)

Guests will receive nibbles and a complimentary drink. 

Cash bar available. 

This event is strictly limited to the first 200 registrations.
