Young Achievers Awards

Last week Laurence Carr was acknowledged as a Young Achiever at the Hastings Heretaunga Lions Young Achievers Awards in Hastings. LAurence has participated in Special Needs TaeKwon Do since her was 11 years old. In 2018 he was selected to represent New Zealand in Argentina at the Special Needs TaeKwon Do World Championships. His results were outstanding and he came away with three medals: gold in the Special Needs team patterns, bronze in individual patterns and bronze in Mixed Abilities. This year Laurence has continued to show his talent and skill in this discipline. He recently was graded as a blue belt and won a gold medal in the inter-school championships. Once again, he was selected to represent New Zealand in the Special Needs TaeKwon Do International Games in October this year. 

Laurence is the third student from Kōwhai to be acknowledged as a Young Achiever. Congratulations, Laurence!
